Timely Reminders
I was reading through some of the blog post ideas that I had written in the past, and this one caught my attention.
"The colors of the sunrise sing Your praise. It's a simple, yet profound, reminder that no matter what happens today, God is still in control. He knows exactly what is going to happen, and none of it is a mistake. We don't always know what God is up to, but we can always know it is good. I'm sure the tapestry analogy is quite old by now, but it's a pretty good analogy for 2020. We see the back, with all the threads running crazily, a jumbled mess, it's extremely difficulty to make out what the picture is. God sees the front, the whole picture, He knows where each string is supposed to go because He can see where it fits, and wherever it goes it will make the picture more beautiful. He's not confused or concerned it won't turn out.
We have to trust the Creator, the Author, the One who Restores broken things. He's got this."
I wrote that on November 4, 2020. It amazes me, because little did I know that I would need to hear these words in 2021. For most people, 2020 was the hardest. For me, 2020 was really good, and 2021 was one of the hardest years of my life. What I wrote then was exactly what I needed now, and I think that just proves the point that God sees the picture perfectly, whereas we're still running along one of the threads, desperately trying to get to the next stitch.
The sunrise has always been one of my favorite things, alongside sunsets, and the ocean. They serve as a reminder of things made new, and of God's complete control.
I have seen broken things, and painful things, and I've been through difficult times, but I know that my God can bring healing and restoration to those things. I have hope for the future.
